Flanboyant Eats’ Christmas & Holiday Gift Guide 2011, Pt. 1
As things would go, here I am, just 5 days before Christmas struggling to find the perfect gift to wrap up for my familia and closest friends. Knowing they’d expect nothing short of a fabulous food find or fashionable accessory for the kitchen, I went on the prowl for awesome things the ultimate foodie would enjoy.
Hec, I’d enjoy all of these goodies and have taken it upon myself to treat my home to some of them. The best part about last minute shopping is that you don’t have much time to think about what you’re going to get and you must “hurry up and buy!” If you’re in a super crunch like me, I promise these are amazing presents that have a purpose and will put a geeky smile on everyone on that shopping list!
1. Pumpkin Spice Cake Pops, Missoni style!
Go local! A baker from my hometown made these amazing cake pops for my birthday dinner party and can I tell you! I did not want to share! I had a out of body experience with Missoni for Target collection (see gift idea No. 2) and had the flamboyant idea of having her make cake pops bearing a Missoni zigzag design. Classic and chic if you ask me! Visit Maria Krisanta on FaceBook for any flavor cake pop. $1/each
2. Missoni for Target Martini Shaker
Super chic etched martini shaker will allow your guests to enjoy their cocktail that much more! Target.com, $17. (hint: I have two for sale! Send me an email if interested. Will ship for Sat. delivery!)
3. Eggnog Flan
Need I say more? The perfect custard for the Christmas season. Spicy, aromatic and pure lusciousness. No calories, either! Atlantans and DC/VA peeps–want one? Send me an email and we can make this happen for you! Flanboyant Eats™, $42 for 1 qt; $7/6oz. ramekin
4. Leather and Silver Flask
Really for the guy on your list, this flask is cook, practical and manly. Well, I suppose all flasks are?? J.Crew, $42
5. Cake Slicer
For the baker in your family (my sister in my case), why not make transferring the cake much easier with this lovely utensil? Wilton, $10.
6. Boho Chic Embossed Green Leather Journal
For those of us that write down our new recipes as we go along, this is the perfect journal to write all of our ideas and keep precise notes on our recipe development. And for those that cook in your life, too! Will last forever. I have this and love it. Amazon, $25.
7. Jimmy Choo Coffee Lover Croc Leather Sleeve
Another “do I say more!” gift. This is for the ultimate foodie fashionista in your life. Nothing says I love coffee or espresso more than protecting your hands with a snakeskin embossed leather sleeve. Cardboard ones are so of the past. Jimmy Choo, $150. Available at different high-end retailers.
8. Heart of Haiti Hand-painted Bird Bowl
This amazing collection of artisan work from Haitians caught my eye at Macy’s. I got the “Vines” one and just love it. The collection is a collaboration between the retailer and artists on the island. All proceeds to to flood rescue and relief efforts. This is what you call Shopping With a Cause. Macy’s, $50
9. Chalk Slate Cheese Plate
This is serious business! I love how you can write the name of the cheese with chalk. Perfect for the entertainer that doesn’t want repeat themselves every time a guest asks what kind of cheese they’re about to bite into! Home Wet Bar, $19.95
10. Bodum Chocolatière
It’s cold outside– at least is some parts of the country. Offer up some warm and sexy cocoa in this glass (and chic) chocolatière So fancy, right? Must get for papi. He loves hot chocolate with marshmellows on top! Crate & Barrel, $30
11. Glass Terrariums
I can’t stop staring at these lovely botanical designs. It’s’ the chicest way to display plants in your interior. Found these locally in Atlanta, but if you do a Google search, you’ll come up with hundreds of stunning options. I personally need to budget fora bout 5 of these. They’ll complete my office space. Leaflet Floral. $50+
Now that 11 gift suggestions are at your fingertips, let me get to work on real fashion pieces for the fashionistas in your life! I’ll showcase those on my fashion blog, B So Chic!™ “Chronicles of a Hat & Shoe Queen!” But, I won’t leave you hanging here! I have one more foodie gift guide coming up! More food, some gourmet, some handmade and custom edibles and chotskies for your and your firends’ cocina that you still have time to pick up!
Have something in mind and can’t find it, let me know and I hunt around. I’m fabulous at finding meaningful treasures.
PS: I might get beside myself and amend this post as I find things you just can’t resist!
Merry Christmas and happy shopping!
